Clinical Use 24 hour urine electrolyte measurement may aid in the diagnosis of aldosteronism, diabetes insipidus, adrenal hypertension, Addison's disease, syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion, or other diseases involving electrolyte imbalance. In healthy patients, urinary sodium excretion is a biomarker of dietary sodium intake.
