Instructions Specimen Type: Royal blue-top (EDTA) tube OR royal blue-top without EDTA
Specimen Storage: Maintain specimen at room temperature.
Specimen Collection: Separate serum or plasma immediately after the collection, and transfer to a certified metal-free transport tube (PeopleSoft No. 111166) for shipment to the laboratory.
Specimen Stability: Ambient: 14 days, Refrigerated : 14 days, Frozen: 14 days
GENERAL INFORMATION
Expected TAT 2 - 4 days working day.  
Clinical Use Recommended for determination of iodine excess and monitoring iodine overload in patients administered iodine-containing medications. This test reports total iodine from all iodine-containing species present in the specimen but does not determine the chemical form (species) of the iodine present. For the assessment of nutritional status, Iodine, Urine is preferred.
