EDTA Microtainers (bullets) are not acceptable specimens. Uric Acid: 1 mL (0.5) Plasma Lithium Heparin PST (Light Green Top) or 1 mL (0.5) Serum Clot Activator SST Refrigerated Stability: Ambient 8 hours. Refrigerated 7 days. Antinuclear Antibody Screen: 1 mL Serum Clot Activator SST Refrigerated Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Stability After separation from cells: Ambient 8 hours, Refrigerated 7 days, Frozen 3 months (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles).
