| Instructions | Notes: Fixed-cell pellet from a cytogenetic analysis, two slides, 5 mL blood (adult), 1 mL blood (pediatric) OR 1 mL bone marrow Specimen Type: Green-top (heparin) tube; pediatric Vacutainer(R) is optimal or lavender-top (EDTA) tube Specimen Storage: Maintain specimens at room temperature. Specimen Collection: Transport to the testing lab at room temperature; use a cool pack or LabCorp transport kit. Do NOT allow sample to freeze. Special Instructions: Pertinent clinical diagnosis, previous cytogenetic studies, and probe of interest should be included with the specimen. (Call for a list of available probes or see online list.) . NOTE: This test number is used for tracking oncology FISH specimens to the Specimen Stability: Ambient: Not Available, Refrigerated : Not Available, Frozen: Not Available |
