| Instructions | Cleanse venipuncture site and avoid hemolyzed specimens. Allow specimen to clot and aliquot 4mL(1mL) of serum to a standard transport tube. Store serum at 2-8 ? for up to 72 hours. Serum may be poured off and frozen at <-20 ? for up to 7 days prior to testing. Specimens should remain at 2-8 or -20 during transport. Unacceptable specimens: Hemolyzed specimens, specimens contaminated with gel, specimens frozen then thawed and refrozen, specimens stored at the incorrect temperature, or specimens contaminated. |
