| Clinical Use | Agglutinin titers to somatic and flagellar antigens begin to rise during the second week of infection and peak by the third week. Titers <=1:160 are considered presumptive evidence of S. typhi infection (at an undetermined time). A four-fold increase in titer is required for serodiagnosis of recent infection. |
