Clinical Use | Cryofibrinogens are rarely occurring cold-precipitable proteins most often associated with neoplastic diseases such as pulmonary, gastric or colonic cancers, metastatic carcinoma of the prostate, multiple myeloma and certain inflammatory diseases such as acute rheumatic fever and ulcerative colitis. Occasional cryofibrinogens occur without any obvious underlying disease. Cryofibrinogens are of unknown significance. |
