| Instructions | Do not pre-chill the EDTA blood collection tube or store the tube on ice. Process the blood at room temperature. Separate plasma from cells immediately after collection using a non-refrigerated centrifuge. Transfer plasma to a plastic vial and then fast-freeze. It is necessary to ensure that freezing temperature is maintained at all times and that no exposure to refrigerated temperatures occurs during storage and transportation. Patient should be ambulatory for 30 minutes prior to draw. Overnight fasting is preferred. | |||
