Clinical Use | The presence of a paraprotein is suggestive of multiple myeloma, primary amyloidosis, benign monoclonal gammopathies (monoclonal gammopathies of undetermined significance [MGUS]), Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia or other lymphoproliferative disease. A paraprotein can be present even when total serum protein, beta and gamma globulin, and quantitative immunoglobulin concentrations are all within normal ranges. |
