| Clinical Use | ANCA is a family of autoantibodies with varied specificities. The 2 types of ANCA patterns are C- and P. C- and P- ANCA can be of considerable value in the diagnosis of the spectrum of vasculitis (e.g. Wegener's). Positive ANCA results presenting C-ANCA and P-ANCA will reflex to specific testing for MPO and/or PR-3 antibodies. An Atypical-P ANCA is associated with inflammatory bowel disease and will not reflex to MPO and/or PR-3 testing. |
